Grasmere Journal 1

Grasmere Journal 1
(lines compos'd in Oxfordshire, England)
By azly rahman

that evening I walked
along the path of a garden
English it speaks
It whispered to me
A story of a thousand years
Of a thousand plots
Of a thousand planes of existence
Of a thousand roses
A thousand thorns
O’ Nature
Thou are the narrator
Beauteous thine whispers
For a place I have longed to be
For a thousand years
in solitude
only thine whispers
and the light before the end of the road
serenade me
till my eyes close
opening up, hence
for a thousand visions
of a story
nestled in the woods
English too it speaks
O’ nature
Bless thyself
